FAQs

How do I get to Aberdeen Airport?

Aberdeen Airport is easy to reach however you're travelling. It's about seven miles north-west of the city centre, easily reached from the A96 Aberdeen–Inverness road, and getting there has become even simpler with the southern section of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route now open.

By bus, regular services run between the airport and Aberdeen city centre, with connections to surrounding areas too. By train, the nearest station is Dyce, around two miles from the terminal and easily reached by taxi or bus. ScotRail runs regular services to Dyce from across Scotland, including through trains from Glasgow and Edinburgh on the Aberdeen–Elgin–Inverness line — just bear in mind the station is unstaffed, so it's worth buying tickets online or from the machine before you travel. And by taxi, official Aberdeen Airport taxis wait right outside the front of the terminal — just turn left for the rank, where a Forecourt Co-ordinator will help with your onward journey.

Is there parking at Aberdeen Airport?

Yes — Aberdeen Airport has a range of options to choose from, including long stay, short stay and priority parking. It's worth booking online in advance if you can, especially if you're travelling on peak dates or want to make sure you get the option that suits you best. Book your Aberdeen Airport parking online today, or call our Sales Team and they'll be happy to help!

How many terminals does Aberdeen Airport have?

Just the one — Aberdeen Airport operates from a single terminal, so check-in, security, departures and arrivals are all in the same building. It makes things nice and straightforward, though it's still worth checking your airline's information before you travel so you know exactly where to go on the day.

How early should I arrive at Aberdeen Airport before my flight?

As a general rule, aim to arrive around 2 hours before a short-haul flight and up to 3 hours for long-haul, giving yourself enough time for check-in, bag drop and security. It's always worth double-checking with your airline too, as exact times can vary depending on your destination and whether you're travelling with hold luggage. If you're flying during a busy period like school holidays or over Christmas, it's worth giving yourself a bit of extra buffer.

What facilities are available at Aberdeen Airport?

There's plenty to keep you occupied at Aberdeen Airport before your flight, with a range of shops, cafés and places to eat and drink to suit different tastes. If you fancy somewhere quieter to relax, the Northern Lights Executive Lounge offers views over the runway along with internet access and a comfortable space to unwind before boarding. You'll also find family facilities, baggage services, a left luggage service and assistance for anyone who needs extra support getting through the terminal. Just bear in mind that opening times and facilities can vary, so it's worth checking the airport's latest guidance before you travel.

Does Aberdeen Airport offer assisted travel?

Yes — Aberdeen Airport provides assistance for anyone who needs a bit of extra help getting through the terminal. Just make sure to arrange this either with us or your airline in advance, then head to the Assisted Travel desk in the main check-in hall when you arrive so the team can help with your journey on the day.
