A guide to Playa d'en Bossa holidays

Food & drink in Playa d’en Bossa

Staying on this Balearic island gem ensures a mouth-watering culinary journey from its hearty stews known as sofrit pages, which is chicken, lamb and sausage with peppers and potatoes to its seafood paella. And if you want to discover the best authentic eats, we’d recommend heading just 20 minutes down the road to Cala Es Xarcu. The mixed seafood grill is served in most waterfront restaurants and all bait is caught the same day it’s served to customers – Bebel is said to be the best place to sample lobster, cod and squid.

Wash that down with the Spanish classic, Sangria which is a beautiful blend of either oranges, apples and pears combined with red wine. Horchatas is one the whole clan can enjoy, this frozen milk-based drink includes grounded nuts such as almonds and vanilla extract (almost like a milkshake). Fruit versions are also available, which resembles a slushie.

Beautiful beaches in Playa d’en Bossa

Famed for its two-kilometre length of flawless white sands backed by never-ending azure waters, Playa d’en Bossa beach is a tropical paradise. Lined with world-renowned bars and dance spots, you can’t escape its energy. The clean and shallow seabed ensures safe paddling for water babies, but its starring attraction is its watersport scene. Whether you tackle its ripples by jet ski or banana boat, there’s an adrenaline-pumping activity for all holidaymakers along this coast. Not only is it jam-packed with endless fun, but its facilities are top-notch too. Loungers come by the boatload, showers are on hand after a salty dip, while lockers allow you to keep your belongings safe and lifeguards are keeping a watch on vulnerable swimmers. We would recommend heading to the south end of the beach if you’d prefer a laid-back sunbathing stint.

Things to do in Playa d’en Bossa

The main attraction is inevitably its party scene, thanks to its 24-hour strip and famous DJ headliners. But don’t be fooled, Playa d’en Bossa has so many other allures from its hippie-chic boutiques to its highly rated eateries and celebrated sunset viewings.

Dance from dusk till dawn: When you first hear dance anthems from legends such as David Guetta and Craig David, you won’t be able to stop those toes from tapping. Revel in the best of Playa d’en Bossa from swanky cocktail bars to Balinese style beds and infinity pool edges, all this and more awaits at Ushuaia Beach Club. Bora Bora is the island’s most famous beach bar which comes to life at 4.30pm and ends at 5am. Better yet, it’s free to enter and you may even spot a celebrity or two. Head just 10 minutes down the road and Ibiza’s oldest and renowned venue, Pacha is calling your name.

Make a splash at Aguamar Waterpark: Ready for thrills and spills? Open throughout the summer season, grab your rubber rings and head straight for its eight-lane slides. Plunge down Kamikazes and Black Hole shoots to test your inner daredevil. Kids can make splashes of another kind in its infant waters, while paddling under waterfalls and cannons. And if you’re a fan of neither, there’s plenty of sunbathing opportunities to ensure you make the most of those Mediterranean rays.
