Making up part of Rhodes, Afandou stays true to its Greek roots with most of the village remaining relatively untouched by mass tourism. Everything about this place screams tradition from its Orthodox Church complete with a bell tower to its age-old recipes which have been past down for generations and shops selling authentic souvenirs. As for sunbathing stints, the beach here stretches for an impressive seven kilometres. Nights are a low-key affair and typically centre round the village square with a collection of bars and restaurants tempting you in. Getting around is easy too with a small train taking you from the sand and into the town.
